Description

This particular heirloom white rice is known as Suwandel because it is derived from the Sinhalese word suwandha, meaning scent in Sri Lanka. Suwandel, this Heirloom Fragrant Rice, is popular for its sweet aroma, rich and creamy flavor and fluffy texture. This rice variety has been celebrated since ancient times and enjoyed at traditional festivals in Sri Lanka. The great taste and high nutritional value of Suwandel blends very well with savory and sweet dishes. Instructions for Use & preparation 

• Rise and drain 1 cup of Naturepro organic hierloom fragrant rice
• Add 2 1/2 cups of water and a pinch of salt
• Bring to a boil over medium-high heat
• Stir, cover and reduce to low heat
• Simmer 20 minutes until water is absorbed
• Let stand covered for 5 minutes then fluff with a fork
• Store in a cool dry place
